ly has the latest for us this morning. >> reporter: good morning. bullets taken from the victims and shell casings found by the bodies are being tested. the results are due back today which should answer the burning question of whether these two murders are related. they are the first murders in olney since 2008 and police could not ignore the similarities. initially, the police thought that the man who was killed on friday had committed suicide but then evidence showed he was murdered. punyasra gedara was gunned down in broad daylight. police are looking at the possibility that the cases are related. >> we're certainly looking at the possibility of the two cases being related. i mean we're diagnose a forensic analysis of the -- doing a forensic analysis of the shell casings we've been able to collect. >> it is crazy, scary. i hope it is not connected because if it is, it is terrifying. >> reporter: police are still searching for an older model beige toyota camry with maryland plates seen leaving the scene of monday's murder. they have surveillance video from a camera pointed at

them. fox 5's sherry ly is on this story and she joins us live from northeast with the latest. >> reporter: this is where the father lived, we're told. the crime scene tape has just been taken down. police just pulled out of this neighborhood. this was a very dangerous situation. the father, we're told, may have been armed with a gun and wearing a bulletproof vest. police had surrounded this neighborhood. they just pulled out. we are told that the father was arrested somewhere else in d.c. the two children, 2-year-old robert anthony anderson ii and his sister, 10-month-old tiara anderson went missing last night. police issued an amber alert for their father. 22-year-old robert anthony anderson took the children. it is unclear what led up to the abduction. investigators issued an amber alert. they put out a description of a vehicle anderson was believed to be in and cops converged on his home in d.c. in case he tried to return her. records show the father has a lengthy criminal history with drug and weapons charges and had previously faced charges of attempted murder. so clearl
-day lockout. stacy cohan is joining us live with the latest from washington hospital center. good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning. the picketing is supposed to begin here at washington hospital center in just two hours. the issues we are told are both pay and safety issues. the nurses union out here represents over 1600 nurses. they will not be all out on the picket line at once p union representatives claim the walkout is motivated by concern for patient care. the hospital management says the real issue is money. among other things, the union will apparently not agree to a pay cap on weekend and night shifts. >> patient safety is our number one concern. that is why we've worked with these nurses over the last couple of months. that is why we've brought them in many days early and we're actually having them go through training modules. these are nurses that are used to coming into an emergency situation. they are going through our modules and our protocols. >> reporter: any nurses that do fail to show up to work today will then be locked out for five days. wash hospital center h
